Welcome to the Barcelona Tai Kai, featuring six days of training and teaching by Ron Kosen — Kanchō (Organization Head) and founder.
The Tai Kai will emphasize key fundamentals on its public day. The members-only day will teach Kenjutsu and Kotō-ryū.
The Shisenkan International Kobudo Renmei was founded on February 3, 2022, by Ron Kosen for the purpose of transmitting Kobudō—Old Japanese Martial Traditions—to its deshi (disciple/s), providing them with the skills to defend and protect themselves—body and mind.
The Shisenkan was founded on the practice of Bumon Shūmon—an Ichidō (unified path) of the Martial Gate (Bumon), leading to the physical world of martial techniques, and the Religious Gate (Shūmon), through which deshi take a spiritual path of harmony with nature and Nintai—perseverance of the spirit. In Shisenkan, anyone who is sincere, trains diligently, is disciplined, and follows the organization’s rules and requirements will have access to all knowledge—open and hidden.
Ron Kosen, founder of Shisenkan, has been training and teaching Kobudō (Old Martial Way) for forty-four years. In late 1984, Kosen joined the newly established Genbukan World Ninpō Bugei Federation and made Japan his home in 1987, becoming an uchi-deshi (direct student) of the founder and head of Genbukan, Tanemura Tsunehisa.
Some twenty-five years later, Kosen was the highest-ranking non-Japanese Shihan, holding Menkyo Kaiden at the Honbu dōjō (headquarters training hall), teaching in his dōjō in Tokyo since 1990.
Seeking to deepen his knowledge and understanding of Japanese martial history, Kosen pursued academic studies and acquired a Ph.D. in Japanese military history under the direct guidance of two leading scholars in the West: Professor Jeffrey Mass (Stanford University) and Professor Paul Varley (Columbia University and University of Hawaii).
In late 2022, Kosen officially resigned and parted ways with his long-time teacher Tanemura Tsunehisa and established Shisenkan to provide the highest level of teachings of the Old Martial Way, presenting his deshi with a wealth of knowledge of the martial way and its historical context—teaching Bumon (martial gate) and Shūmon (spiritual gate).
Marc Valero i Mur started teaching in 2007 in El Prat de Llobregat, in various gyms, centers, and spaces, creating a Dōjō-kai (training group). In 2013, this group established the Dōjō-kan, its own exclusive space for rigorous and focused practice.
Thanks to the collaboration of the Black Belt students, the Dōjō offers classes for adults in the morning and afternoon every month of the year. In 2016, Senpai Sandra Benítez Zurita, the Dōjō's oldest student, began teaching children's and youth classes, thus expanding the offerings and availability.
In November 2023, the Dojo joined the Japanese federation "Shisenkan Kokusai Kobudō Remei," adopting the name Hakurō Dojo, "White Wolf."
The Dojo-chō, Marc Valero i Mur, began his martial arts career at age 7 (in 1986) with Taekwondo. He practiced it until age 18 (in 1997) when he became captivated by Japanese Budō, which he has continued to practice uninterruptedly to this day. He currently holds the rank of 4th dan in Shisenkan Kobudō and is a direct student of Ron Kosen Sensei since November 2023.

“Dōjō” means “place of learning.”
“Hakurō” means “white wolf.” The white wolf is a messenger of the mountain gods—or a deity itself—according to Japanese mythology. It symbolizes loyalty and strength, and is a sacred animal believed to bring good fortune.
Shisenkan Hakurō Dōjō is a school dedicated to the teaching and practice of Japanese martial arts, with a 160-square-meter facility including 85 square meters of tatami. It offers classes for:
